This nut holds the separator in place on all D3 and D4 model Rainbows.
For a short period on the model D4, this nut had an open top and allowed you to use a flat screwdriver to hold the motor in place. The problem with this design was that it allowed water to get on the threads and seize the nut to the motor shaft. Replace if you are able to see the end of the motor shaft in your machine.
This nut fits the older style R312 separator. Be sure to look at the image closely, as the other types of separator nuts have a flat base and do not work correctly with the R312 plastic separator.
If you have a metal separator, then please order an H555 nut that has the flat base.
