"Like Steve, I had to drill the heads off of the old screws while restoring an old D4C unit. I pleasantly surprised to see that this part was available and inexpensive. It looks and fits just like the original. Go ahead and drill those screws. No, just toss the whole assembly after removing the bearing retainer, slinger ring, and boot. Buy this along with a flange and don't bother with it."

"Just the part you will need if you drill the heads off the rusty screws and realize there isn't enough left sticking out to remove, enabling you to reassemble the vacuum. Perfect fit and a relatively inexpensive recovery compared to replacing the whole unit."
